STUDIES ACTIVELY RECRUITING PARTICIPANTS

Our research aims to advance scientific understanding of sexuality and its relationships to other areas of life. If you are interested in contributing as a paid volunteer, please read about our current opportunities below.

Are you a woman between the ages of 18 and 30 living in the United States?

IRB Protocols #2009083477

This online survey study is investigating the relationship between personality traits, perceptions of sexuality, and current and past life experiences, including sexual assault. If you choose to participate, you will complete a variety of questionnaires estimated to take between 30-50 minutes. At the end, you will receive your choice of $10 eGift card from Amazon or Starbucks, and mental health resources will also be available for download. A prescreen survey is required to determine if you are eligible to participate. It should take no more than 3 minutes of your time.

Interested in brain imaging research on women’s well-being?

IRB Protocol #2006258642

Our lab is seeking women ages 18-30 for a brain imaging study. As a participant, you will undergo an MRI scanning session, during which you will view images depicting shapes, patterns, and people who are engaged in explicit sexual and non-erotic interactions. You will also be asked to subjectively evaluate these images and answer questions about your life experiences (including some sensitive information about sexual assault, eating habits, and alcohol), mental health, and personality. The whole session will take approximately 1.5-2 hours on the Indiana University Bloomington campus, for which you will be compensated $30.

A short prescreen survey is required to determine if you are eligible to participate. You will be asked about your past sexual experiences, mood symptoms, handedness, history of certain health concerns/procedures, and any metal in your body. Once we have processed your responses, we will contact you to let you know if you are eligible and help you schedule your session. Regardless of eligibility, after we reach out, all identifying information will be stripped from your answers to protect your anonymity and ensure that you are in no way linked to the responses you provide.
